Mealworms
Mealworms are a good source of protein. They are very easy to maintain and inexpensive, making them a staple food for many pets. They are the larvae of the darkling beetle and are an ideal meal for lizards and birds. Mealworms last for an extended amount of time if kept in the refrigerator at 45 degrees F. Mealworms have thicker chitin (exoskeleton) than other feeders and consequently, we recommend feeding them to juvenile and adults lizards.
