Please note that if it is over 80 degrees, you must choose next-day shipping for the live guarantee to apply. Since the worms can become overheated just riding in the delivery truck, please consider having them delivered to your workplace or to a UPS customer center if possible.
Mealworms are a good source of protein. They are very easy to maintain and inexpensive, making them a staple food for many pets. Mealworms last for an extended amount of time if kept in the refrigerator at 45 degrees F. Mealworms have thicker chitin (exoskeleton) than other feeders.
Care
Refrigeration: Yes; You may keep them in
the refrigerator, 45 degrees F, to extend their life span.
Take them out once a week to warm them up so they can eat.
Life span: About 2 months.
Appearance and texture: Yellow-orange with
thick chitin (exoskeleton). Giant mealworms are nearly twice the size of normal mealworms.
Bedding and food: They are one of the
easiest feeders to care for. We recommend using our worm food
as the bedding, which they will eat. After a few days, you
will begin to see dust on the bottom of the mealworm
container. You should change the bedding when the majority
of the bedding becomes dust. You should also add pieces of
vegetables to hydrate the mealworms.
Nutrition: Great source of protein.
If fed on our worm food, they will become more nutritious
for your pet.
As with most worm suppliers, worms are sold in a measured volume, not individually counted. You may get slightly more or sometimes less depending on the worm size of the batch.
